Fiction Shows Losing Their Edge

Actress Deeksha Sonalkar Tham, known for her impressive performances in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, Tenali Rama, Choices, and Hasmukh, believes that reality television is rapidly taking over the small screen.

She explains, “Unfortunately, our fiction shows are struggling with a lack of exciting storylines. They often begin on a grand scale, but eventually turn into love triangles or conflicts between the lead characters. I’m not saying all shows are like this, but the majority tend to follow this pattern. That’s why viewers start looking for something fresh and different — and reality TV offers exactly that.”

Reality TV’s Growing Popularity

While acknowledging the rising success of reality shows, Deeksha admits she doesn’t personally connect much with them. “I never really developed a habit of watching reality TV. Maybe I could relate to a dance show, but otherwise, it’s not something I follow,” she says with a laugh.

Watching for a Special Reason

Still, she has one reason to tune in. Deeksha revealed, “My dear friend Ahana Kumra is part of the newly launched ‘Rise and Fall’ show. For her sake, I definitely have to watch it.”
