Mumbai, January 14, 2026: The red carpet in Mumbai showcased the glamorous charm of Rajasthan’s soil and uniform. The occasion was the grand premiere of the highly acclaimed Rajasthani cinema film “Saagwan.” When Himanshu Singh Rajawat, the brave police officer from Udaipur and the film’s lead actor, arrived in Mumbai with his entire team, Bollywood luminaries stood up to welcome this Rajasthani talent.
Rajasthan’s historic “Conch Sound” after 25 years
The film “Saagwan” has written a new chapter in the history of Rajasthani cinema. After a gap of almost 25 years, a film has been released in which the entire team—from actors to producers, singers to editors and cameramen—is comprised of local artists from Rajasthan. The most talked-about topic in Mumbai’s film circles was that these talented individuals from Rajasthan, without any outside big banner, had created a Bollywood-level film.
Bollywood bigwigs gathered
Many prominent Bollywood personalities attended the premiere in Mumbai. Stars like popular comedian Sunil Pal, veteran actors Ali Khan, Ramesh Goyal, Sanjay Bhushan Patiala, and Tahir Kamal Khan watched the film and praised Himanshu Singh Rajawat’s portrayal of “real policing.”
Actor Ali Khan said, “We often see fake policemen in Bollywood, but the dignity of the uniform and the real investigation that Himanshu ji has portrayed on screen is commendable.” Sunil Pal also praised the film’s clean content and social message.
A ‘Saagwan ke Danda’ attack on obscenity
During the premiere, the film’s director and actor Himanshu Singh Rajawat shared his vision. He explained that the film is based on real case files where innocent people are killed due to superstition. He said that the aim of ‘Saagwan’ is to eliminate the obscenity that has made the word ‘Saagwan’ synonymous with vulgar songs. Now, people will not smile upon hearing the name ‘Saagwan’, but will be proud of the justice provided by the police.
A Blast in Theaters on January 16
After the success of the Mumbai premiere, all eyes are now on January 16, 2026, when the film will be released in theaters across the country. Along with Rajasthan, the film will also showcase its magic in theaters in Gujarat. The film will also star Ehsaan Khan in the lead role alongside Himanshu Singh Rajawat.
Experts believe that the success of ‘Saagwan’ will open the doors of Mumbai for Rajasthani artists and give regional cinema a new identity.
