Celebrating India’s Emerging Artistic Voices

The Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation presents Kalanand 2025, an exhibition celebrating India’s emerging artistic voices. The exhibition will be on view from March 2 to March 8, 2025, at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhavan, 226, Nariman Point, Mumbai from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free and open to all.

Kalanand 2025 will showcase 21 exceptional works from this year’s grant recipients across six diverse categoriesPainting, Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, Tapestry, and Natural Medium Art. Selected from over 200 submissions nationwide, these 24 talented artists represent the vibrant future of India’s art scene. Their works reflect diverse perspectives, spanning both urban centres and remote regions across the country. The Foundation’s Kalanand Grants Programme has the largest reach and support system for emerging artists in India.

ABOUT KALANAND GRANTS

Now in its eleventh year, the Kalanand Grants Programme stands as India’s most extensive support system for emerging artists. This innovative online platform creates opportunities for artistic development and exposure, transcending geographical limitations. The selection process upholds artistic integrity through a blind jury evaluation, where three eminent art historians, critics, and established artists assess each submission against an objective rubric—without knowledge of the artists’ identities.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 by the late Dilip Dahanukar, in honour of his wife Prafulla Dahanukar, an eminent modern artist of India during the Progressive movement. The foundation is dedicated to nurturing India’s artistic community. Through initiatives like the Kalanand Grants, the foundation builds essential networks, connecting emerging talents with exhibition opportunities, recognition, and support.
