Mumbai, 31 December 2025: Twenty-five years ago, Juris Corp began its journey as a small, specialised legal practice at a pivotal moment in India’s history. The country was navigating the early years of economic liberalisation, and with it came a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory environment. Businesses were exploring new opportunities, regulators were shaping new frameworks, and the need for trusted, forward-looking legal counsel was greater than ever. It was in this landscape that Juris Corp laid its foundations—focused, principled, and deeply attuned to the changing needs of India’s financial and corporate sectors.
Founded in the post-1991 reform era, Juris Corp’s evolution has closely mirrored India’s own financial transformation. As banking, finance, and corporate transactions grew in scale and complexity, the firm expanded steadily, guided by enduring values—integrity in advice, depth of expertise, and a long-term commitment to clients and stakeholders. Over the years, Juris Corp has partnered with institutions through regulatory transitions, landmark deals, and the emergence of technology-driven compliance, earning trust through consistency and thoughtful counsel.
To mark its 25-year milestone, Juris Corp hosted a commemorative evening in Mumbai that brought together leaders from banking, finance, corporate India, and industry bodies—many of whom have been associated with the firm across different phases of its journey. More than a celebration, the evening served as a reflection of Juris Corp’s culture: inclusive, intellectually curious, and purpose-driven.
Breaking away from the traditional formality often associated with the legal profession, the event was designed to be interactive and engaging. A light-hearted yet meaningful detail set the tone—hosts and caricature artists wore badges reading “Lawyers Can Be Fun,” capturing the firm’s belief that rigour and warmth can coexist. Activities seamlessly blended law, finance, and play. A standout was the “Wisdom of the Crowd” challenge, where guests predicted future values of NIFTY, gold, and forex across timelines of 25 days, 25 weeks, and 25 months—an imaginative nod to the firm’s 25-year journey and to the economic principle that collective insight often outperforms individual forecasts.
Guests also explored the firm’s story through the ‘Journey of Juris Corp’ knowledge wheel—an interactive experience that revealed lesser-known milestones from the firm’s past. A themed caricature booth added to the cheer, illustrating guests as characters inspired by the worlds of banking and finance, including the lawyer, stockbroker, sahukar, munim, and banker. Even the cocktail menu carried a thoughtful twist, with names such as Hedge Fund Highball, In Good Fizz (Faith), and The Insider Sip, subtly weaving the firm’s domain expertise into every detail. Each element reflected Juris Corp’s approach to innovation—not as a buzzword, but as a mindset grounded in curiosity, participation, and continuous learning.
True to its belief that professional success must walk hand in hand with social responsibility, the celebration carried a strong ethos of giving back. Gifts and takeaways were sourced from NGOs, and through a simple token-based system, guests chose causes close to the firm’s heart—supporting skill inclusion for the differently abled, financial literacy for women, and education for the underprivileged. Juris Corp will contribute to multiple NGOs from the Social Venture Partners network based on these selections.
Inclusion was not merely symbolic. Members from Veruschka, the NGO that prepared the cookies in the goodie bags, were present and personally handed them to guests. Two members from Mann worked alongside the service team throughout the evening, while three members from Teach helped manage the stalls. The celebration thus became a shared space—where hosts, guests, and contributors came together with dignity and purpose.
Reflecting on the milestone, Talat Shah, Co-founder, Juris Corp Advocates and Solicitors, said, “It’s been a wonderful journey. We are delighted that over the years we have had ongoing opportunities to contribute—to our clients, our colleagues, and society at large.”
Looking ahead, Juris Corp is focused on strengthening emerging practice areas, deepening engagement with new-age businesses, and nurturing responsible, knowledge-driven legal talent. As Jayesh H. (Shah) noted, “Juris Corp is looking ahead with confidence—grateful for the journey so far and ready for the responsibilities that an AI-driven future brings.”
As it steps into its next chapter, Juris Corp’s story remains firmly rooted in people, purpose, and progress—principles that have shaped its first 25 years and will continue to guide the road ahead.
